In a new book titled “Hans Christian Andersen and Jose Rizal: From Denmark to the Philippines”, readers can enjoy classic fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen translated into Filipino by national hero Jose Rizal.
The classic fairytales are not only translated into Filipino, but English too. The new book also features essays from historians and literary scholars Ejnar Stig Askgaard, Katrina Gutierrez, Johs. Nørregaard Frandsen and Ambeth R. Ocampo.
The book is edited by Danish Ambassador to the Philippines Jan Top Christensen and is published by Anvil Publishing, together with The Royal Danish Embassy.
“The book is both for young readers and adults. The fairy tales have several layers, and both groups can benefit from reading the tales,” says Ambassador Jan Top Christensen.
The book will be available in the Philippines from 5 October 2018.
