Danish help for climate adaption in Rakhine

Peter Hansen, Ambassador of Denmark to Myanmar, joined an identification mission to Maungdaw district in Rakhine State for three days last week. He met with the Chief Minister of Rakhine State to discuss the elements for a Danish supported mangrove rehabilitation and climate adaptation programme, as well as the ongoing coastal fisheries co-management programme in Rakhine.

Furthermore, the Ambassador visited a number of villages in the district to discuss with the villagers the effects of climate change and possible measures to adapt to the change. Denmark is preparing a programme for mangrove rehabilitation and climate adaption in Rakhine State.
