Danish pavilion debuts at Medical Fair Asia Singapore

Denmark is for the first time organising a national pavilion at Medical Fair Asia 2018 in Singapore during 29 – 31 August. The fair takes place at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands, where the Danish exhibitors will include numerous world-class companies.

The Danish Health Tech Group of Danish Export Association has chosen this particular event believing that it is the best and most well-established trade show covering markets in the ASEAN region

“The current high growth pace in the Danish medical device industry is mainly fuelled by the growth in markets beyond Europe. However, I believe that the ASEAN markets are often overshadowed by the focus on markets such as China and Japan. Healthcare demand in the Asean is increasing rapidly and disease patterns and patient-centric care models are shifting towards those we see in Western Europe. Having led healthcare business missions to Asean markets, I have witnessed first-hand the significant opportunities in both the public and private healthcare markets,” says Thomas Andersen, Head of Danish Health Tech Group.

“Numerous Danish suppliers to the healthcare market are already active in the region through JV’s, subsidiaries and distributors. However, many more will be looking to join forces with local partners to help solve healthcare challenges within their specific areas of expertise.”

With world-class research centers and talent pools, an inherent focus on user-involvement and a population that is very quick to adopt new technologies, Denmark has established itself as a pioneer in developing, testing and commercializing new technologies for the healthcare sector.

The pavilion includes the following companies:
LINAK: Market-leading electric linear actuator technology for ergonomic improvements in hospitals.
BK Ultrasound: Unsurpassed imaging technology that enables real-time image guidance with easy-to-use, mobile platforms.
SP Medical: Guide wires and dispensers for minimally invasive procedures.
Wellness Nordic: Cognitive assistive technology for bedridden patients and through rocking chair therapy.
TannerMedico: World leader within anti-snoring medicines.
SwimCount: World’s first valid at-home sperm quality test that measures the concentration of Progressive Motile Sperm Cells.
UVD Robots: Autonomous mobile robots for UVC disinfection of patient rooms and operation theatres.

At Medical Fair Asia Denmark will also present white papers on Danish excellence in the following areas:
• Hospital Logistics: This white paper presents the Danish concept of Hospital Logistics and ground-breaking solutions that contribute to making Danish hospitals more efficient and improve patient safety and treatment quality.
• Dementia: This white paper presents the Danish approach to dementia care based on the National Action Plan on Dementia 2025 and includes a broad range of solutions that contribute to improve quality of life for people with dementia.
• Telehealth: This white paper presents the Danish approach to national implementation of telehealth and a broad range of ground-breaking solutions that contribute to making the Danish healthcare system more efficient and improve patient safety and treatment quality.

“Our exhibitors have mixed objectives with some seeking new business partners while others will use the platform to meet with existing business partners and their end-users.
We successfully organise Danish Pavilions at numerous other healthcare trade shows around the world, and we very much look forward to debuting at Medical Fair Asia 2018.”

The European Union also participates with a pavilion.

The medical fair will also include special zones: Community Care Pavilion, Start-Up Park and Future 4 Health (FTR4H) Lab & Lounge.

Medical Fair Asia describes itself more than just the region’s top sourcing platform, featuring a comprehensive line-up of conferences and seminars.
