Danish Planet Saigon plan for 2013 / 2014 ready

Danish Planet Saigon has announced its calendar of events for 2013/14. The calendar generally consists of events that have run for many years but also has a new event.

Friday 18/10 – Wine and Cheese

One of DPS’s classic events, where we can meet old friends or make new friends.

Saturday 30/11 – Christmas lunch

This yearly event follows the good Danish principle of everybody bringing some food (according to a coordinated list) and then sharing. If the children have behaved well during the year Santa also makes a visit.

Monday 2/12 – Christmas Event

The Danish priest in Singapore has for many years been coming to Hanoi for a yearly Christmas event. This year there will be an event in Saigon also.

Friday 7/2 – Wine and Cheese

One of DPS’s classic events, where we can meet old friends or make new friends.

Sunday 2/3 – Fastelavn

Fancy dress for the children, including fastelavnsboller and “slaa katten af toenden”.

Sunday 20/4 – Easter Lunch

Arranged by Legend hotel.

Friday 16/5 – Wine and Cheese

One of DPS’s classic events, where we can meet old friends or make new friends.

Sunday 8/6 – Grundlovsdag

Celebration of the Danish Constitution including a constitution speech.

Anything missing?

In the announcement, co-chairmen Thomas and Thomas explain, that they have tried to coordinate the calendar with other “Dane related events”.

“If we have missed something and one of the above events collides with another pre-arranged event, then please let us know and we will try to come up with an alternative date,” they say.

For all events, invitations and reminders will come out when we are a little closer to each event, but you can already now mark the calendar.

Membership is for the season 2013/14 50 USD (1.100.000 VND) per family. Some of the events have additional payment, while some are free for members. Events are also open to non members, typically with a slightly higher payment than that of members.

DPS aims on a yearly basis to be financially in balance, i.e. neither making a profit nor a loss.
