Greenland had its first tuk-tuk

The wellknown Asian tuk-tuk vehicle has found its way to Greenland

Tourists coming to Ilulissat in Greenland now have the chance to explore the town from an Asia-inspired tuk-tuk vehicle.

On Monday 23 September the small white tuk-tuk had its first appearance in the town, that is placed by the famous Unesco protected ice fiord in the Disko Bay, the travel and tourist news communicator Take Off reported.

In Asia the vehicle is known its huge consumption of petrol, but the first Greenland edition is  electrically powered, which makes it ideal for sightseeing.

It is the tourist agency IceCapTours that now offers the tuk-tuk rides in the arctic surroundings.

Arne Niemann, manager and owner of IceCaptours fell in love with the charming vehicles during a vacation in Thailand, then he and wanted to bring a similar one to his guests in Greenland.

“The advantage is that you sit in the fresh air and can get far around the city. A tuk-tuk ride is a great supplement to a city trekking tour,” Arne Niemann says to takeoff.dk
