Danish dry bulk shipping and freight trading company Union Bulk has appointed Jens R. Boesen as its new chief executive officer, effective immediately.
The company confirmed that former CEO Michael Bonderup has stepped down after around 15 months in the role. No reason for the change was given.
Boesen previously served as Union Bulk’s chief executive from the company’s founding until 2024, when he transitioned to the role of chief financial officer. At the time, Union Bulk said he would continue to act as an ambassador for the company, representing its interests globally and maintaining key relationships.
In its statement, Union Bulk said the leadership change marks the start of the company’s next phase of development.
“We thank Michael for his efforts during his period here,” the company said, adding that further updates will be provided as appropriate.
Union Bulk also confirmed that its commercial and operational activities will continue as normal across its offices in Copenhagen, Singapore and Hong Kong, underlining the company’s continued presence in Asia.
