Denmark sponsors 12 unique Vietnamese art projects

Board members of the Danish Embassy’s Cultural Development and Exchange Fund (CDEF) met in Ho Chi Minh City in early May to review and select among 38 applications for support to contemporary art and culture projects. 12 projects were selected; 6 from Hanoi, 4 from HCMC and 2 from Hue. More than 80.000 USD was granted to the projects within visual art, film, dance, and cross-cutting genres.

“This time we have received an impressive number of applications from all over Vietnam and within a wide range of different genres. It’s positive to see how the knowledge about the CDEF has expanded, and also how the art scene in Vietnam continues to flourish, bringing about innovative and exciting art and culture projects” says CDEF board chairman and Danish ambassador John Nielsen.

The next round for CDEF applications will be in autumn 2014. Until then, stay tuned for this year’s grand Talent Prize competition! Keep yourself posted on Facebook.
