Denmark’s food minister visited Vietnam, MoUs signed

On 9 November 2015 Danish Minister for Environment and Food Ms. Eva Kjer Hansen visited Vietnam where she lauded the strong Vietnam-Denmark partnership in the areas of food, environment and green growth.

During her visit the partnership was developed further as Eva Kjer Hansen met Deputy Prime Minister Hai to a talk about ways to further strengthen the strong Danish Vietnamese relations through political dialogue as well as trade and commercial cooperation.

Minister-Denmark-Eva-Kjer-HansenLater, at Vietnam Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Danish minister presented a new Danish initiative to deploy a counsellor at the embassy to establish strategic projects to address environmental and food sector challenges.

The minister also witnessed the signing of a MOU between Danish Farm Concept (DFC) and the Vietnamese company RTD on developing a big breeding farm. Finally, Minister for Natural resources and Environment Nguyen Minh Quang and Minister Kjer Hansen signed a MoU with which Vietnam became the 8th core member of the Global Green Growth Forum (3GF) as the first ASEAN country.

To Vietnamese media she highlighted the impressive increase in bilateral trade between Vietnam and Denmark, saying that “2015 seems to become yet another record-year for our two-way trade as we are up 57 percent compared to 2014, and I expect the activities of Danish businesses and investments in Vietnam will increase further in the coming years.”
