“Don’t Tell Me How to Dress” officially opens in Philippines

Harald Fries, the Ambassador of Sweden to Philippines attended an official opening of the exhibition “Don’t Tell Me How to Dress” taking place at Gateway Mall Activity Center, Quezon City, Philippines on Friday, 1 March 2019.

The exhibition was initially launched last year on 25 November as the beginning of the 16-Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence at Powerplant Mall in Manila and it was a part of Respeto Naman, a nationwide campaign that aims to wipe out all the violence against women.

Beside Mr.Harald Fries, the honorable attendees at the openning also included Mr. Iori Kato, Country Representative of UNFPA Philippines, Ms. Jill Javiniar of the Office of the VP – Angat Buhay, Ms.Vicky Garchitorena, Founding Trustee of SPARK Philippines, and Ms. Diane Romero, Executive Director of the J. Amado Araneta Foundation, Inc.

Moreover, the Embassy of Sweden in Manila has supported another upcoming event, International Women’s Day Summit 2019 that will be held on Friday, 8 March 2019 at SM Aura Samsung Hall.

According to the Embassy of Sweden in Manila, International Women’s Day Summit 2019 will “bring together powerful women and their allies in the fight for women’s empowerment and gender equality”.
