Embassy in Hanoi Launches Talent Prize 2014

The Danish Embassy in Vietnam, launches this year’s Talent Prize with the theme Climate Change in Photography. The Talent Prize 2014 has a Grand Prize worth USD 2,500. Besides the Grand Prize, there is a Smart Phone Prize for the best photo taken with a smart phone and the People’s Choice Prize awarded for the most popular photo voted online. The competition is open for all photographers, including non-professionals, between 18 and 35 year old.

The Jury consists of photographer and winner of the World Press Photo 2013 in the category “Contemporary Issues” Maika Elan, Chief Photography Editor of Tuoi Tre Newspaper Nguyen Hoai Linh and Danish photographer Michael Daugaard. The jury will select up to 80 photos for an exhibition in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

“In a fast developing global world we are constantly faced with the consequences of climate change and environmental issues. The purpose of this contest is to explore how these issues and consequences are perceived and expressed in photography,” said Ambassador John Nielsen.
