The Danish Minister of the Environment Ms Kirsten Brosbøl visited Singapore last week during Singapore International Water Week (SIWW). The Minister had a tight programme with lots of interesting meetings and events. Among other things Ms Brosbøl participated as a key speaker at the Opening Plenary of SIWW and further as a key speaker at the CleanEnviro Plenary, dealing with the challenges of water and waste management at a global scale.
The visit was also important for the Danish and Singaporean partnership, as a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) covering environment and water sustainability was signed between the countries. Further, the Minister witnessed the signing of a MOU between Grundfos and PUB and between Centre for Liveable Cities (CLC) and Danish Architecture Centre (DAC).
Visiting the Singaporean company Hyflux, opening of the Danish Pavilion at Water Expo, sailing on Marina Bay and Singapore River and numerous of bilateral meetings – those things where also on the agenda.
It was a tired but very satisfied minister leaving Singapore after a very fruitful visit.
