This afternoon, 18 June 2017, Falck Global Assistance, will open a new 24/7 emergency response centre in Bangkok. With the opening, Falck Global Assistance has established a hub for its expanding activities in Southeast Asia.
Since its establishment in 2009, Falck Global Assistance has been growing rapidly. The opening in Bangkok is the third location in Asia and shows the company’s commitment to expanding in the region. The company provides medical assistance and emergency evacuations for roughly half of travellers out of Scandinavia. The new 24/7 emergency response centre shows how important the company views the Asian market for its future growth opportunities.
“For years, Thailand has been one of the most popular travel destinations for Scandinavian business and leisure travellers,” says Managing Director of Falck Global Assistance Daniel Hummel.
“We expect this trend to continue in the years to come. Thailand is a growing economy and Bangkok serves as a great strategic vantage point for us to strengthen our activities in the region.”
“By being locally present and employing local people, we strengthen our regional knowledge in several ways. This in turn will help us to ensure the best medical treatment at the best available rates for our customers – and to the customers of our customers”, says Daniel Hummel.
“Asia as an extremely interesting part of the world. We are already 24/7 operative in China and India, and Thailand is now going to anchor our activities all over Southeast Asia”, says Daniel Hummel.
Each year, the 700 employees of the company handle 300,000 cases, including more than 6,000 medical evacuations. The medical network of Falck Global Assistance includes 60,000 providers all over the world. Initially, 20 people will assist travellers out of the emergency response centre in Bangkok 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Falck Global Assistance is part of the Falck Group which was established in Denmark on 1906. Apart from international travel emergency assistance, Falck Global Assistance also helps people travelling and working abroad with medical and security risk management and crisis management solutions. Falck Global Assistance is also a partner and provider for a large number of global insurance companies and businesses.
