Finnair starts codeshare cooperation with Juneyao Air

Announcing on its press release on May 16, 2019, Finnair has agreed on a new codeshare cooperation with Juneyao Air, one of the leading private-owned carriers in China, to extend its network in China.

The new codeshare agreement will conduct on the route operated by Juneyao Air and Finnair between Helsinki and Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG). It also conducts on selected Juneyao routes in China as well as selected Finnair routes in Finland.

Since June 28, 2019, Finnair has offered its customers with the route connecting with Juneyao Air from Shanghai to Harbin, Shenyang, Dalian, Qingdao, Xi´an, Chongqing, Kunming, Xiamen and Fuzhou. As a consequence of the increasing number of Chinese tourists visiting Finland, this agreement will add more eight new destinations to Finnair’s network in China.

The Finnair code will be added on Juneyao Air routes between Nanjing and Xi´an, Chongqing and Zhangjiajie. At the same time, Juneyao Air code will be added to Finnair´s route between Shanghai and Helsinki, and to Finnair’s domestic routes from Helsinki to Ivalo, Rovaniemi, Kemi, Kuopio and Oulu.

The customers can book these new codeshare flights from 16 May, 2019.

Mr Christian Lesjak, Senior Vice President, Network and resource management at Finnair expressed that Finnair was pleased to work in the collaboration with Juneyao Air and ready to provide its passengers more destinations and smooth connections in China.

“During summer 2019, we operate up to 42 weekly flights between Greater China and Helsinki, including daily flights to Shanghai. We welcome Juneyao customers to explore Finland,” he delighted.

Besides, Mr Yu Chengji, Executive Vice President of Juneyao Air, said that this agreement will benefit the customers from both companies to have more choices and also will enable easy connection and communication between China and Europe via Finland.

“We believe the codeshare partnership between Juneyao Air and Finnair will be a win-win collaboration,” he affirmed.
