MoU on environment between Forum Syd and Cambodia’s Ministry

Forum Syd, Sweden-based organization focusing on human and civil rights, has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cambodia’s Ministry of Environment to enhance the cooperation in the field of environment.

The MoU on environmental cooperation was signed by Country Manager of Forum Syd Lars Mannberg and Secretary of State of Ministry of Environment Sao Sopheap in Phnom Penh on May 10, 2019.

The MoU will enable Forum Syd to continue working with 12 local partners to protect and conserve natural resources as well as provide the helpful method and knowledge on adaptation to climate change for local people in order to reduce environmental degradation.

At the signing ceremony, Mannberg gave his opening remark about Forum Syd’s performances and achievements in Cambodia, particularly on an effective collaboration between Forum Syd and Ministry of Environment.

Likewise, Sopheap highlighted that Ministry of Environment and Forum Syd have been working together for several years in the area relating to environment and this agreement with Forum Syd would be the testimony for the excellent cooperation in the future.

As one of the Forum Syd’s partner organization, Embassy of Sweden in Phnom Penh wrote on its Facebook page, “the Embassy would like to congratulate Forum Syd Cambodia, for the new agreement with the Kingdom of Cambodia.”
