Former Danish boxer hospitalised after rooftop incident in Phuket

Police in Phuket were called on Saturday afternoon after a former Danish professional boxer climbed onto a roof in the Kata area while severely intoxicated.

According to Matichon and Khaosod, the man, who lives in Kata, appeared agitated and shouted from the rooftop before officers from Karon Police Station managed to talk him down safely. He was then taken to Chalong Hospital for observation and treatment.

Authorities confirmed that the man’s behaviour was caused by extreme intoxication. No one was injured and no property was damaged during the incident.

Lieutenant Colonel Thiyut Suksongwan from Karon Police said the priority was to ensure public safety and prevent harm. Local residents praised the calm coordination between police and community officials, which prevented the situation from escalating.

The case has renewed discussion about alcohol-related incidents among foreigners in Phuket’s tourist areas. Officials said they are reviewing procedures to better handle similar emergencies in the future.
