FORSK visited Swedish Embassy in Bangkok

The Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok received a visit from FORSK, the section in charge of research at Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) on 12 March 2019.

The reason of the visit from FORSK was to team up with the Embassy to attend the seminar supported by Sida on SHAPE-SEA: Strengthening Human Rights and Peace Research and Education in South East Asia held at Mahidol University, Bangkok.

According to Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok’s Facebook page, SHAPE-SEA project aimed to contribute improvement of human rights of people in Southeast Asia through education and applied research.

Oganized by the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies (IHRP) at Mahidol University, the seminar encouraged participants to exchange their experiences toward academic freedom in their countries and discuss a number of issuses about Academic Freedom and the importance of Freedom of Expression in the Region.

“The discussions also highlighted the importance of international forums and financial freedom.” wrote the Embassy.
