Although the Norwegian Visa Application Centre in Guangzhou first began its operations this year on the 12th February, the official Grand Opening took place on the 15th April, and it was set to be a grand event.
Centrally located, the Visa Application Centre is an important partner of the Norwegian Consulate General and it offers extended opening hours, increased capacity, and an ease of application procedures. There is a growing trend of increased interest for travelling to Norway and Europe, and the new Visa Application Centre will play a large part in accommodating these travellers.
The Grand Opening was attended by many distinguished guests, ranging from the Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office (FAO) to Consulates General and journalists, making it a truly memorable event. Following the opening speeches was the ribbon cutting ceremony, which proved to be an exciting affair indeed. It was celebrated with confetti, champagne, and fresh Norwegian Salmon. The guests were invited to look around the Visa Application Centre, and the many attendees admired the spectacular photographs from Norway that decorate the walls.
After the exciting events of the day, the Grand Opening of the Visa Application Centre was clearly a great success. The centre plays an important part in strengthening the Norwegian Consulate General’s work, and we look forward to seeing its continued progress.
