HTC will make payments to Nokia and the collaboration will involve HTC’s 4G LTE (Long-Term Evolution) patent portfolio, further strengthening Nokia’s licensing offering, HTC said in a press release issued late Friday.

The companies will also explore future technology collaboration opportunities, according to the press release. HTC did not divulge the figures paid to Nokia nor other details of the agreement.

“Nokia has one of the most preeminent patent portfolios in the industry,” Grace Lei, general counsel of HTC, said in the press release.
