Laos’ Foreign Minister visited Norway

On June 28, delegation from Laos’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by Foreign Minister of the Lao PDR Saleumxay Kommasith visited Oslo, Norway for Norway-Lao bilateral consultations.

As a part of the visit, Loas’s Minister Kommasith and the delegation attended the meeting where they met with Norway’s Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Søreide and Norway’s Minister of International Development Dag-Inge Ulstein.

At the meeting, numerous issues and common interests in the fields of humanitarian disarmament, education and survey of unexploded ordnances (UXOs), hydropower, and multilateral cooperation including ASEAN and Norway’s sector dialogue partnership were discussed.

In 2021, Norway and Laos will mark the 30-year anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
