Missing Dane found – happy as can be

The 59 year old Dane, Brian Dilling Pedersen, who was feared a victim of a crime after he lost contact with his family and his Facebook page was deleted, was found on Thursday 5 June 2025 in Pak Phanang district of Nakhon Si Thammarat, happy as can be, living with his new girfriend.

Before recording the Dane as missing, the local police quickly made the necessarry initial search and found him at the home of his new girlfriend, whose name was known. He had been staying with her family there since he checked out of the Ban Chai Khlong restaurant and guesthouse. They were both brought into the police station in Pak Phanang to meet with Gregers Moller of ScandAsia and two officers from the regional Tourist Police.

Mr. Brian Dilling Pedersen insisted that he had not lost contact with his son. He had just spoken with him only a few days ago. He was not aware that the way the conversation ended could have given his son the impression that there was something wrong.

“I am sorry if this has led my family and friends in in Denmark to be worried about my situation,” said Brian Dilling Pedersen. “In fact my situation is fantastic and I am very happy here!”

The deleted Facebook page had two explanations. Brian Dilling Pedersen explained in Danish that he decided to delete it because it had been hacked. His new girlfriend explained in Thai that Brian had deleted it so that his wife in Sakon Nakhon would not be able to see that he was together with her now.

Brian Dilling Pedersen will fly back to Denmark the day after tomorrow, 8 June 2025, since his current visa will expire on the 9th.

“I am relieved that he is safe,” says his son Steven Risager Madsen.

“We are deeply grateful for your help. Other wise we would still be worried about his situation.”
