Namyong Terminal Wins Excellence in Logistics Management

Namyong Terminal Public Company Limited has been awarded the Excellent Logistics Management Awards 2014 (ELMA 2014) for excellent logistic management organized by the Department of International Trade Promotion under the Thai Ministry of Commerce.

The judging committee this year awarded the Excellent Logistics Management Award to Namyong Terminal PCL, in warehousing service category. Their winning key success factor is the efficiency in their management that utilizes the organisation’s limited resources, manpower, time and space to effectively manage their services to the fullest capability.

“Our company has been aware of our resources constraint. Therefore, we have been focusing on improving our efficiency by reducing cost, time and labor but still continuously improving our standard,” sais Mr. Theparak Luengsuwan, Chief Executive Officer of Namyong Terminal at the event.

“We believes that the implementation of information technology in logistics management was one of the reasons that led Namyong Terminal PCL to win this award. The company’s advanced IT programs are constantly being developed and improved by our in-house team, thereby, reducing errors, enabling our company to efficiently cope and response to our customers’ needs.”

ELMA is considered as a strategic project under the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce with an ultimate objective to develop Thai logistics service provider capability and to raise Thai logistic industrial standard to an international level that is recognized and accepted worldwide, and eventually become the logistics hub for ASEAN

Ms. Jatuporn Wattanasuwan, Director of Office of Service Trade & Trade Logistics, explained that this ELMA project was created to encourage Thai logistics providers to improve their service quality standard that is recognised nationally and internationally.

“We invited renowned logistics experts and academics from private and public sectors to form an ELMA judging committee and tailored international standards, from Europe and the United States, to be ELMA assessment criteria. This award does not only benefits the winner, but also those who are joining ELMA,” Ms. Jatuporn Wattanasuwan, Director of Office of Service Trade & Trade Logistics, said.

“ELMA’s winners can, of course, use the ELMA logo as their marketing tool to enhance their customers’ confidence in their reliability logistics services quality. And ELMA applicants will all receive feedback and recommendations from the committee to improve their logistics management,” she added.
