Acclaimed contemporary Norwegian author Roy Jacobsen will participate in Singapore Writers Festival, to be held 1-10 November.
In Singapore, Jacobsen will feature on the panel Nordic Lights – An Introduction to Nordic Literature on 9 Nov.
On 10 Nov, he will give a talk about his own work and sources of inspiration in a “Meet the Author” session. Then Jacobsen will feature in Nordic Noir, a discussion of Nordic literature beyond crime fiction, the stories of family sagas and human drama.
Born in 1954, Jacobsen debuted with his first collection of short stories, Prison Life (Fangeliv), in 1982. He has written four collections of short stories, 11 novels, a biography and a children’s book, and published his most recent novel, The Invisible (De usynlige) earlier this year.
Jacobsen’s great break-through came in 1991 with the novel The Conquerors (Seierherrene), which gave him a wide audience and excellent reviews. Child Wonder (Vidunderbarn) became Jacobsen’s international break-through.
