The price difference between cod and haddock, as well as demand for Norwegian twice-frozen cod, saw Norwegian sales to China increase 62.5% in the first five months of 2014, according to the latest Seafood Intelligence Report by Marko Partners.
Between January and May 2013 Norway’s total cod exports reached 20.3 million kilograms live weight. A 62.5% increase took this to just under 40m kg for the same period in 2014.
