Norwegian deaths in Thailand double

The number of Norwegians who have died in Thailand has almost doubled this year. From January until 24 June this year in Thailand there were 56 deaths reported. The number of deaths for all of 2012 was 64 persons.

The Norwegian newpaper VG says the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok is surprised that the number is so high and cannot explain the increase.

The Norwegian Seamen’s Mission in pataya says to the newspaper that quite a few of the death are not sudden, but following a long period of bedridden illness.
