Hanoi authorities have deported Norwegian national Berg Robin Grande following an incident in which he broke the rear window of a parked car while under the influence of cannabis.

The event took place on September 12 in Dong Da Ward, where Grande smashed the window of a gray Ford Focus and climbed inside, reportedly claiming he was searching for his mother. Police confirmed that he did not steal anything from the vehicle.

He was arrested shortly afterwards, and a rapid test showed positive results for cannabis use. According to statements made through an interpreter, Grande had accepted drugs from people he “barely knew” while traveling from central Vietnam to Hanoi.

Following the arrest, Dong Da Ward Police coordinated with the Hanoi Immigration Management Department, which issued a deportation order citing property damage and illegal drug use.
