Cambodia earned more than $408 million from bicycle and e-bike exports in the first eight months of 2025, with Denmark and Sweden listed among the main European destinations, according to the General Department of Customs and Excise. The figure marks a nearly 46% increase compared to the same period last year, Kampuchea Thmey Daily reports.
Since 2020, Cambodia has become the leading supplier of bicycles to the EU, accounting for 24% of total imports and surpassing China and Taiwan. Officials attribute the growth to competitive pricing and quality standards that meet demand in Europe’s cycling-friendly nations.
Scandinavian markets such as Denmark and Sweden, both recognized for their strong cycling cultures and sustainability focus, are key destinations alongside Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
Currently, five companies operate bicycle assembly lines in Cambodia, with further expansion underway, including a $7.2 million factory approved in Svay Rieng Province. Authorities see the industry as one of the country’s most promising export sectors.
