Norwegian OComp brings ship battery fire training to Singapore
Norwegian maritime training company OComp is holding a course in Singapore on 23 September on how to respond to lithium-ion battery incidents at sea.
The five-hour course uses practical scenarios to teach crew members and shore-based staff how to recognise, assess and respond to battery fires. OComp runs it with the Bergen-based Maritime Battery Forum. The course covers guidance from the Norwegian Maritime Directorate.
Maritime Battery Forum is also holding a basic course on marine batteries in Singapore on Wednesday morning. Both courses take place alongside its WATTS UP APAC conference, which runs until 25 September, but are separate from the conference programme.
