Novo Nordisk conducts Vietnam diabetes study

As part of his endeavour to gain further insights and change the diabetes situation in Vietnam the Senior Vice President of Novo Nordisk Mr. Frederik Kier visited the country in late August. During his stay, Mr. Kier had meetings with local authorities and local partners, as well as witnessed the MOU signing ceremony between the Embassy and Vietnam Social Security (VSS).

Novo Nordisk is a global healthcare company with more than 90 years of innovation and leadership in diabetes care. The company is in a public-private partnership with the Embassy in working to improve Vietnam’s diabetes care. Various initiatives in collaboration with authorities and local partners have been initiated – this includes the Vietnam Diabetes Care Program, the establishment of a diabetes awareness website and an online training platform for health care professionals.

Currently, Novo Nordisk is also conducting a study to understand the burden of diabetes in Vietnam. The study is expected to provide the Vietnamese Government with a better understanding of Vietnamese people dealing with this disease and to highlight the challenges thereof.
