Nysnø and EPS Ventures invest in Zinus’ sustainable maritime solutions

Nysnø Climate Investments and Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping Ventures (EPS Ventures) announced a NOK 50 million investment in Zinus

Nysnø Climate Investments and Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping Ventures (EPS Ventures) announced a NOK 50 million investment in Zinus, a leader in maritime charging and shore power solutions. This funding represents a crucial step for Zinus, aiming to enhance growth and innovation in sustainable maritime technologies.

Endre Eidsvik, CEO of Zinus, welcomed the new co-owners and noted their significant expertise and commitment to advancing maritime solutions. “Our new investors bring vital capital to drive innovation and growth. With their extensive maritime backgrounds, we are well-positioned for international expansion,” he stated.

This private placement secures Nysnø and EPS Ventures as shareholders in Zinus, with representatives from both firms joining the Board of Directors to strengthen their strategic involvement. Current shareholders, including LOS Gruppen, Eviny Ventures, and DSD, will retain their stakes while continuing to support Zinus’s vision.

Recognized for its cutting-edge technology, Zinus develops vital shore power solutions that help reduce the maritime industry’s carbon footprint. By enabling vessels to switch off fossil fuel engines during port stays, Zinus’s technology significantly cuts CO2 emissions and supports the transition to hybrid and fully electric vessels.

The partnership plans to recruit 15 new employees in 2025, expanding the Zinus team from 50 to 65 as part of its growth strategy. Yvonne Silden Langlo, Senior Investment Manager at Nysnø, highlighted Zinus’s importance in addressing maritime emissions, while Gary Ong, Investment Manager at EPS Ventures, reiterated the necessity of shore power solutions for decarbonizing the maritime sector.

Zinus, headquartered in Bømlo, Norway, has established a global presence with its innovative zero-emission power technologies since its inception in 2018. Through this collaboration, both Nysnø and EPS Ventures aim to bolster Zinus’s mission in the green shipping revolution.
