On 12-13 December 40,000 revellers gather for the electronic dance music festival Zoukout on Siloso Beach, Sentosa island in Singapore.
Over 20 international and local artists over two stages performs, including Scandinavian headliners in the form of Steve Angello (on of the dj:s/producers in the former mega House trio Swedish House Mafia) and the London trance music act Above & Beyond, in which the Finn Paavo Olavi Siljamäki is one of the members.
“Steve Angello has built a strong reputation for himself in the dance music scene, and we are proud to have him on our lineup this year for the festival,” says the organizing venue Zouk to ScandAsia.
Zoukout is organised by the nightclub Zouk, which has become a legendary clubbing-institution since its opening back in 1991.
Its festival, which was conceived in 2000 to be the region’s definitive dance music festival and bring the Zouk spirit and energy to the great outdoors and a much larger audience.
“ZoukOut will be in its 14th installation this year. Last year we saw a total of 41,000 party revelers hit the beach over two days and from dusk to dawn. This year’s tickets have been selling really well, and we look forward to yet another ZoukOut experience, where punters crave for more of the festival.”
Whether or not this success will continue is slightly uncertain though.
At the time of writing Zouk only knows for sure that its lease at the venue is until the end of 2015.
“As such, we would like to keep things open.”
