The 2nd MASBA Networking Evening in cooperation with the Embassy of Sweden, Business Sweden, which took place on Tuesday 23 September 2014, was equally successful as the first held earlier in the year.
“After two successful events one may say that the Networking Evenings hosted by MASBA jointly with the Embassy of Sweden and Business Sweden, have become a tradition,” says Executive Director Madeleine Mandorff.
“We would like to thank all members and other guests for once more coming to the lovely RSGC for this very special function. We hope we can count on your overwhelming support also in the future,” she says.
Mrs. Mandorff adds, that it is an honor to see that the other Nordic and EU Ambassadors continue to join the event and that MASBA is always pleased to see also colleagues from the other Nordic business councils at these functions.
“It was a special honour for us to welcome Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir, as the captivating guest speaker of the evening. In her speech “Malaysia today – One Woman’s View”, Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir concentrated on women’s situation in the country. She spoke about women’s position in the family and society, religion, Sisters in Islam, child marriage and many other equally interesting and current issues.”
Her words encouraged the audience to some direct and open questions during the Q&A session, which went on far past the allocated time.
The evening continued with lively discussions between the guests all through the tasty cocktail buffet and mingle, which went on until late hours.
MASBA sends a heartfelt thank you to SAAB Malaysia, Volvo Malaysia & SABA Capital, the three generous sponsors. Without their support, it would not have been possible to hold the function for such a big crowd.
As Mrs.Wendy Lau, longtime and loyal MASBA board member, mentioned in her welcoming address, we are now looking forward to the three remaining MASBA events for 2014, i.e. the Ambassador’s Dinner on 13 November, the visit to F-Secure 25 November, and of course the traditional Nordic Business Christmas Dinner on 5 December,
