Swedish Chamber of Commerce Singapore (SwedCham) held its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the 1880 club on Nanson Rd, Singapore where there were the farewell to former members as well as the welcome to the new members elected to the board.

The leaving board members were Otso Toikka, Pontus Cavefors-Svensson and Lena Haggblom.

The new board members consisted: Angelica Lundman from SEB, Anders Liss from Scania Group, Marie Hélène MANSARD PARILUSYAN from Axis Communications, Cecilia Håkansson from IKEA Group, Lars Bergstrom from GAC Sweden and Fredrik Fremberg from Nordea.

Lars Rönnquist from Saab was elected to president and Jessica Fayers from Bolon to Vice President.

There was also the selection of two new election committee: Per Magnusson and Pontus Cavefors-Svensson.

The guest speaker at the Annual General Meeting this year was Christer Fuglesang, a Swedish physicist and an ESA astronaut.

According to SwedCham Singapore’s Facebook page, SwedCham felt very honored to welcome Christer Fuglesang the first Swedish citizen launched who was in the space aboard the STS-116 Space Shuttle mission on December 10, 2006.

The Agenda presented at the meeting consisted the Financial Statements for 2018 together with the Auditors’ Report, the budget for 2019, the Report on SwedCham Activities 2018, and the proposal for the Board for 2019/2020.

“Thank you to all members who joined the AGM and we are looking forward to the year ahead!”, SwedCham Singapore wrote on its Facebook page.

Inaugurated 37 years ago on September 27 1982 by Senior Parliamentary Secretary Chan Chee Seng, Ministry of Trade and Industry, SwedCham Singapore aimed to advise and facilitate Swedish companies established, operating or intending to do business in Singapore so the firms can seek and expand its connections with other appropriate partnerships in Singapore.
