The Embassy of Sweden in Manila joined Librada Avelino Elementary School in inaugurating the Philippines’ first Nobel Prize Science Hub — an initiative inspired by the Nobel Prize Teacher Summit in Stockholm.

The project was led by Principal Vladimir Paraiso, a 2022 Nobel Prize Teacher Summit scholar, and Master Teacher Monette Gania, the 2025 scholar. The two educators introduced a new science laboratory and information hub to promote innovation, scientific inquiry, and global learning among Filipino students.

Representing the Embassy of Sweden, Deputy Head of Mission Danilo Dovgoborets spoke at the event, highlighting Sweden’s strong commitment to education, literacy, and the exchange of knowledge between nations. He was joined by embassy representatives Anna Ferry and Emma Hjelmgren, as well as officials from Manila’s Department of Education and local academic leaders.

Organized by the Nobel Prize Museum in Stockholm, the Nobel Prize Teacher Summit connects educators worldwide to inspire creative learning and critical thinking. The new science hub in Manila marks the first of its kind in the Philippines and symbolizes growing collaboration between Sweden and the Philippines in advancing science education and innovation.
