Ms. Ann Margareta Måwe, the newly accredited Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam, was on Wednesday 16th October 2019, received by Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong, Party General Secretary and the President of Vietnam, along with a number of other ambassadors.
The diplomatic reception took place at the Presidential palace in Hanoi. Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong expressed his delight and warmly welcomed them to Vietnam. He said that he was certain that the diplomats will successfully complete their tasks, pledging that Vietnam will create optimal conditions during their working term in the country.
Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong also mentioned, that Vietnam will take up the ASEAN Chair in 2020 and non-permanent seat in the UN security council in 2020-21 period.
