A Swedish investor could soon help put central Vietnam on the map for a new generation of eco-conscious travelers, Tuoitre News reports.

Plans are underway for a premium wellness resort in Quang Ngai Province that aims to combine luxury tourism with renewable energy and green technology.

The project is designed to operate with net-zero carbon emissions, making it one of the few tourism developments of its kind in the region.

The proposed resort would be built on a 4.5-hectare site in Vi Choong Village, Kon Plong Commune.

Alongside spa and wellness facilities, the investor plans to use clean energy sources and circular energy systems to reduce the project’s environmental impact.

Local authorities have welcomed the proposal. During a meeting with the Swedish investor, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai People’s Committee, Tran Phuoc Hien, described the project as being in line with global trends in sustainable development and green growth.

The resort is expected to create around 300 jobs and help strengthen high-quality eco-tourism in the province.

Officials also hope it can become a model for clean-energy solutions and sustainable tourism development in Vietnam.
