A Swedish man narrowly escaped death after he was accidentally run over while lying unconscious in a car park in Pattaya early Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred around 4 a.m. on 20 June 2025 outside a bar near Soi 7, off Pattaya Second Road. CCTV footage shows the man, identified by local media as a 49-year-old Swedish tourist, lying face down in the parking area when a white sedan drove into the lot and slowly ran over his head and upper body. The driver, a 61-year-old Thai woman, told police she did not see him lying there.
According to Pattaya City Police, the man had earlier been seen drinking heavily in the area and reportedly passed out in the parking lot. After being run over, he was rushed to Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. Despite the horrifying footage, doctors said the man was lucky to survive with only facial injuries and no life-threatening conditions. He was later transferred to Pattaya Hospital for further monitoring.
Police interviewed the driver at the scene. She was not under the influence of alcohol and cooperated with authorities. It remains unclear whether legal action will be taken.
