During his trip to Vietnam in November, Sweden’s Vice Minister for Infrastructure Erik Bromander paid a visit to the Urban Railway – Line 1, first metro line in Vietnam. Located near the Opera House in Ho Chi Minh City, the subway is expected to play an important role in reducing traffic burden in the city and promoting the use of public transportation.
The visit was for the Vice Minister to get a first-hand understanding of the challenges faced by the subway construction and type of technologies employed to ensure smooth implementation and safety during construction period.
A world-class subway line in Ho Chi Minh City is expected to open in the year 2020.
