The first Nordic Innovation Forum in Philippines

Nordcham Philippines teamed up with the Philippines Norway Business Council (PNBC) and 4 Nordic Embassies: Denmark, Finland in Kuala Lumpur, Norway, and Sweden in Malila to launch the first Nordic Innovation Forum on 21 March 2019 at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) in Makati City.

According to Bo Lundqvist, NordCham Philippines President, the forum assembled 150 important stakeholders operating in Philippines in the field such as start-ups, universities, accelerators, incubators, corporations, investors, government, and NGOs.

The forum was seperated in three parts and each part there were keynote speakers presenting insights, achievements and solutions to analyze future opportunities in business between Nordic contries and the Philippines.

One of the keynote speakets, Riku Makela, Counsellor of the Innovation and Trade Affairs at the Embassy of Finland, mentioned about the key reasons why brands and services from Nordic nations such as Nokia, IKEA, Spotify and Lego are so successful in worldwide.

“We have had free access to world-class education for a long time. In rankings, Nordic countries are usually in the Top 10 for communications and research,” said Makela.
