Ngan made the remarks at a reception in Ha Noi yesterday for visiting Chair of the Audit Committee of the Finnish Parliament Tuija Brax, during which she also said that consolidating and strengthening friendship and multi-faceted co-operation with Finland was a priority in Viet Nam’s foreign policy.

She highly valued Finland’s assistance to Viet Nam and suggested the country consider adjusting ODA orientations in line with Viet Nam’s needs, and focus on co-operation in trade policy, climate change, energy and clean technology.

Co-operation between the two legislative bodies has increased considerably, Ngan said, adding that the visit would be a chance for the two sides to exchange and share experiences, therefore improving the quality of the Vietnamese NA’s law making and operations.

For her part, Tuija Brax said Finland prioritised economic, trade and investment co-operation in its relationship with Viet Nam, describing it as an important activity that helped boost the Finland-Viet Nam traditional friendship and multi-faceted co-operation.

The Finnish delegation earlier held working sessions with the NA’s Finance and Budget, and Economic Committees, as well as the State Audit of Viet Nam.

At the meetings, the two sides agreed to intensify co-operation and experience sharing, and to boost visits of the two legislative bodies.
