A delegation of 20 Vietnamese government officials is studying Swedish approaches to green transition, the circular economy and smart-city governance during a short-term programme at Uppsala University.
The delegation, led by Quang Ninh province’s Standing Vice Chairman Vu Van Dien, met with Vietnam’s Embassy in Sweden on 4 October, according to the embassy.
Discussions focused on Swedish experience in areas including clean energy, waste management, public administration, local government and sustainable urban development.
The delegation also discussed Sweden’s cooperation between government, businesses, universities and research institutes in promoting innovation and sustainable development.
Vietnamese officials shared their initial findings from their study visit and discussed how Swedish approaches could potentially be adapted to Vietnam, particularly in urban governance, the circular economy and public services.
The meeting also explored opportunities for Vietnamese local authorities and institutions to strengthen links with Swedish universities, research institutes, businesses and municipalities.
