Volvo has recently announced the launch of the V40 in Malaysia
According to the Swedish based automaker, a total of three versions of the V40 are available in Malaysia, the V40 T4, the V40 T5 and the V40 Cross Country T5. All three variants are being assembled in Malaysia, along with other models such as the S60, S80, V60, XC60 and XC90, at the Shah Alam facility, the only plant outside Europe to assemble these vehicles, Inautonews.com reports.
The entry-level Volvo V40 T4 is powered by a 1.6 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, made by Ford, which is good for 180 HP and 240 Nm of torque. The unit is mated to a six-speed dual clutch PowerShift transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration takes 8.5 seconds and top speed stands at 225 km/h. The V40 T5 is coming with a 2.0L five-cylinder turbocharged unit, producing 213 HP and 300 Nm of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes 6.9 seconds and top speed stands at 230 km/h. Prices for the 40 T4 start at RM173,888, for the V40 T5 at RM188,888 and for the V40 Cross Country T5 at RM198,888, on the road, without insurance.
