Zara Larsson has thanked Filipino fans after her first solo concert in Manila, sharing highlights from her visit on social media.
The Swedish singer performed at Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on 30 October as part of her Midnight Sun Tour.
“MANILA!!!! That was so so so so amazing! Thank you thank you thank you thank you,” she wrote in a post reported by Philippine broadcaster DZRH on 2 November.
The show marked her return to the Philippines nearly nine years after her appearance at the In the Mix festival in 2017.
A Filipino touch
Larsson’s social media highlights included a ride in an all-pink jeepney inspired by her.
She also wore makeup inspired by halo-halo, the colourful Filipino dessert. Makeup artist Sophia Sinot created the look for the Manila performance, according to GMA News.
During the concert, Larsson invited a fan onstage to perform the choreography of her hit Lush Life, DZRH reported.
The set also included Never Forget You, Symphony, Ruin My Life and Midnight Sun.
Sweden’s embassy in the Philippines congratulated Larsson on the performance, thanking her for sharing her music and energy with Filipino fans.
Tour dates across Asia
Manila was among the Asian stops on Larsson’s international Midnight Sun Tour. Live Nation also listed performances in Tokyo on 7 and 8 October.
The tour schedule placed Bangkok after Manila, with a concert advertised at UOB LIVE on 1 November.
Earlier in October, Larsson performed at the Singapore Grand Prix. As ScandAsia previously reported, she also invited a local dancer onstage during that show’s Lush Life dance break.
