Invitation to Fundraising Dinner at Danish Embassy in China

On occasion that Danmark holds the EU Presidency in the first half of 2012, the Royal Danish Embassy in China is organizing a charity buffet dinner raising funds for cataract surgery in China, carried out by renowned non-profit organization Lifeline Express. Guest of honour is Ms. Le Aimei, wife of the Chinese Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Yang Jiechi.

The event will be held at the Embassy of Denmark in China on May 31 at 6.30p.m. A minimum of 500 RMB per person will be collected by Lifeline Express at the Embassy. To sign up or make a donation please contact [email protected]

There will be lucky draw at the event. Sponsored by Scandinavian Airlines, a lucky winner will win a round-trip air ticket to Denmark.

Lifeline Express, a mobile hospital train providing a number of medical services, carries out thousands of cataract surgeries on Chinese people in the rural areas all over the country. In china, children as young as 4 years old have cataract, and are thus not able to see clearly and live with the risk of eventually turning blind. 

Lifeline Express will be represented by Vice Chairman Rita Fan Hsu Lai-tai Standing Committee Member of the National People’s Congress and former Chairman of HKSAR Legislative Council.
