On August 15, 2012, after a long summer break, in which most expats spend their holiday in Scandinavia, the Danish-Thai Chamber of Commerce (DanCham) organized their monthly networking event and gathered approximately 70 business people and entrepreneurs. Among the participants there were 14 students from the Business Academy in Northern Copenhagen hoping to gain some networking experience.
The event was sponsored by the international shipping conglomerate Maersk Line, Thailand and held at the Grand Millennium on Sukhumvit, Soi 21. Excellent refreshments including hors d’oeuvres were also provided.
Vice President of Dancham, Mr. Soren Presmann welcomed the guests and gave an opening speech. He used this opportunity to inform all participants on Danchams current and upcoming activities. He welcomed new members of DanCham, such as Mondovino and a new intern of DanCham Ms. Ditte Rosenquist and concluded by introducing Maersk.
Following Mr. Presmann’s remarks, the Managing Director of Maersk Lines, Mr. Henrik Jensen, introduced himself and the company. In explaining why Maersk wanted to support this event Mr. Jensen stated, “We see it as a great opportunity for Scandinavian business people living in Thailand to meet up once a month for professional and social networking.”
After Mr. Jensen’s words, the guests enjoyed refreshments, food, and each other’s company.
