Minister for Finance Anders Borg and Minister for International Development Cooperation Gunilla Carlsson visited Beijing on 10 October.
The two ministers attended a joint meeting with Wang Jiarui, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee on Wednesday after the arrival. Each Minister then had separate meetings afterwards.
While Minister Borg met with Cao Yuanzheng, chief economist at the Bank of China, Minister Carlsson met with representatives from the Raoul Wallenberg Institute’s office in Beijing.
Both Borg and Carlsson then participated in the lunch meeting where questions about China’s economy and social reforms were discussed with Chinese and foreign economists.
After their visit to Beijing, the ministers travelled to Tokyo to attend the annual meetings of International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group.
