China’s interest in Norwegian architecture

Norwegian architecture magazine “Arkitektur N” has recently launched its online version called “architecture Norway” in English language. The release has reached the international market, including China – a country showing strong interest in Norwegian architecture.

Arkitektur N is the main presentation journal for Norwegian architects, landscape architects, and interior architects. Issued since 1919 by The National Association of Norwegian Architects (NAL) Arkitektur N has presented and reviewed architecture in and from Norway along with articles, essays, research, and other stories by both Norwegian and international writers.

It’s expected that the release will meet the strong demand and interest in China. China’s interest in Norwegian architecture can be seen through various events and exhibitions such as “Lost in Nature” by Norwegian Architects Jarmund/Vigsnæs at Tsinghua School of Architecture, “Detour” at Central Academy of Fine Arts, lecture series by architects like Reiulf Ramstad fromReiulf Ramstad Architects, and Robert Grenwood from Snøhetta, a special issue in the Chinese magazine “World Architecture Review”, a seminar on the architecture of tourism as well as two study tours with Chinese architects going to Norway in 2010 and 2012.
