Prime Minister of Denmark to visit Vietnam on 7-8 November

Prime Minister of Denmark Ms Helle Thorning-Schmidt will pay a visit to Vietnam at the Invitation from the Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Tan Dung, writes Vietnam Investment Review.

During her stay in Vietnam, the Prime Minister will have meetings with President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Communist party Secretary General Nguyen Phu Trong.

The Prime Minister will promote business between Vietnam and Denmark by participating in business seminars, visit Danish companies and witness the signing of important commercial agreements between Danish and Vietnamese companies.

According to Vietnam Investment Review, Ms Helle Thorning-Schmidt who was recently named UN-Champion by the UN General Secretary, will visit a local school and meet with school children to increase focus on education for all.

“This is the first visit of a Danish Prime Minister to Vietnam,” said Mr John Nielsen, Danish Ambassador to Vietnam.

“It is a clear signal of the strengthened bilateral relation between Vietnam and Denmark. During the visit, the Prime Minister will present a new Danish Growth Strategy for Vietnam and take new steps towards a more comprehensive cooperation agreement to be signed in 2013 in Copenhagen.”

The Prime Minister of Denmark will be accompanied by Minister of Climate, Energy and Building Mr Martin Lidegaard during part of her programme in Vietnam.
