Norway and Norwegian Consumer Goods Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur

Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur organized the Norway and Norwegian Consumer Goods Exhibition at the Gurney Plaza, Penang on Nov 1-4.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Chief Minister of Penang Lim Guang Eng together with and H.E. Hans Ola Urstad, Ambassador of Norway.

During the ceremony, the Children’s Protection Society received donations from both the participating companies and the Embassy.

The exhibition featured a photo exhibition ‘Norway at a Glance,’ where various Norwegian photographers captured portraits of the Norwegians and their lifestyles.

Four companies also showcased a range of products that was originated from Norway or from Norwegian expertise. The exhibition lasted from Thursday 1 November and continued throughout the weekend, ending Sunday 4 November.

Tine Sa, the largest Norwegian dairy products company, provided taste samples of its famous Jarlsberg cheese. The combination of traditional cheese making and modern technology gives the Jarlsberg its mysterious holes and thrilling taste that visitors could enjoy.

Trapia, a Malaysian company who produces a unique strain of GenoMar Supreme Tilapia also set up a booth. Visitors had a chance to taste and learn how to prepare Tilapia fish during a popular cooking demonstration by chef Samuel Cheong from Abbey Road Bistro Restaurant.

Jordan, one of the world’s leading companies in preventive oral care, showcased their range of designer toothbrushes, and had coloring activities for children during the weekend.

Jotun’s booth was also busy with visitors checking out the latest range of interior premium paints that is free from toxic chemicals. These were just a few among the companies that were on display at the exhibition.
