The technology will be placed in the world’s largest forest nursery in Thailand. The deal also marks the largest foreign order ever received by Lännen Plant Systems. When completed the forest nursery will produce more than 150 Million eucalyptus seedlings. The amount is equivalent to Finland’s entire annual seedling production.
The nursery is being built by Tree Tecg Co. which belongs to the Soon Hua Seng corporation. Located east of Bangkok, the nursery will receive the first deliveries from Finland in April. The nursery will launch its operations in May.
The nursery will produce approximately 750 000 sprouts in every 24 hours, after which the plants are grown for 45 days. The Eucalyptus can be harvested after four years.
