Swedish royalties in Bangkok

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden arrived as scheduled Thursday morning in Bangkok for a three day official visit to thank HM King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit of Thailand, the Thai government and the Thai people for all help to Swedish citizens during the tsunami disaster in southern Thailand.
“A million thanks. From the bottom of our hearts,” said King Carl XVI Gustaf to staff from the Swedish embassy in Bangkok at a reception at the Oriental Hotel.
Earlier this day the King donated USD 40,000.00 to Thai scouts who suffered during the tsunami, money collected from the Swedish scout movement.
Thursday evening the royal couple visited their Thai counterparts in Hua Hin for a private dinner. Sweden’s King and Queen will visit Phuket on Friday.
